Note that all the requirements we list here are for
multiboxing 5 copy's of World of Warcraft with WoTLK exp installed. They are also only recommended
requirements and should only be used as a rough guide.
For an example I currently run the following
setup:
-
Quad Core E6600 2.4GHz (As of 2010 this chip is
3 years old)
-
8GB CORSAIR PC2-6400 DDR2-800
-
100GB Samsung
HD
-
X1950 Radeon Graphics Card
-
24" Packard Bell Monitor
Apart from the ram and monitor its all pretty
old gear now and can be brought for cheap. I can easily run 5 copy's of World of Warcraft and walk around dalaran
with 50+ FPS on the main window and little to zero lag. I can also run fraps to record while running 5 copies of
the games without any problems.
Using my setup as a rough guide for your
multiboxing setup you could assume its safe to say you could use:
Any decent Quad/Dual Core CPU around 2-3GHz -
Go for i7 CPUs if you want the best.
Always try to buy the best Hard Drive but
anything 100+ GB with 7500RPM will do the job.
RAM - If running 4-5 copies of WoW with the
WoTLK expansion installed you really want to try and have 2GB per copy of the game running. Although, I have ran 5
copies on 4GB it was with every setting down on ultra low and it is definitely doable.
My GPU is a few years old now but anything you
can get for £150+ ($300)+ will do the job.
Monitor ideally wants to be 20" or bigger or
get 2 monitors and run the main character and the others on a separate.
