Hi, I recently got a 39 mage/priest combo and want to start multi boxing cause the friend i was playing with doesn’t have time to play.. What are some good macros and a solid software i can use that’s free or just costs little to multibox nicely. The only problem i noticed is that i lagged on the priest when i had it in the background just following when i tested multi-boxing.. this didn’t happen before but if you have any tips for how to not lag as much like ui or anything feel free to post as well

Yes, if you take advantage of the Recruit a Friend program.

Here’s What You Need:
2 sets of cd-keys for Original WoW and both expansions
2 email accounts

Here’s What You Do:
Register your first account with your info and apply the cd-keys. Then, in Account Management, find the Recruit a Friend option. Use it to send an email to your 2nd email account. Use the email to register your 2nd account as a friend of the 1st using the 2nd set of cd-keys. Make sure you use the exact same registration info except email address, or you could be banned for multiboxing.

After that, your characters will receive a huge experience boost when playing together.

I recently learned of mutliboxing in WoW and don’t quite understand how it works. I know that the purpose of it is to allow one player to use two or more characters simultaneously. What I don’t get is why people do it and how can a person control several characters from several computers?

can do it with two keyboards and mouses… but you know what? I’ve done it and theres no real benefit. It kind of sucks in fact. Its more fun to have other people play with you.

I need to find something that is easy to use and free. Also, is there any way this software can have viruses/keyloggers in it? I was checking out one, and it asked for my computer’s IP address, which I thought was kind of weird. (I don’t want to loose my WOW accounts). Thanks for your help.

I’ve not heard of a safe free multiboxing software for WoW. Keyclone is one of the most popular I’ve heard of but costs about . This type of software, especially if you’re searching for free versions, can easily contain malware that would make your account unsafe. Make sure to scan them with a good anti-spyware, and anti-virus program before trying them.
The one asking for your IP most likely needed it to communicate key commands throughout the LAN. One suggestion I have, if you do find the program you’re looking for and begin multiboxing, is to create all accounts with the same owner information. If you use separate names on the registration, Blizzard may close the accounts. Good luck!
